Day to day life, ELEVATED

A blog about traveling, life, and pursuing passion .

A little insight into me...

Oh boy howdy! My name is Ryan, and I commonly go by Rhino. This Rhino, likes adventures!

As of 2018, I have written this page at least three, if not four times and have gone extensive periods of time with no posts or updates. Each time the "about" section has evolved with the changes in my life to better reflect who I am and where I want to take this blog.

I would like this blog to give more people the inspiration to get out and do the things that makes them happy. I enjoy traveling but most of all I find a need to keep my day to day routine fresh, lively and maybe a bit unorthodox;  this I would love to share with the world. So I am taking a big step into making that happen. If you love traveling, personal finance, pictures, and a whole mix of other things “life” related I would love for you to follow my blog about the destinations that I visit and the things I do. I also enjoy writing, mountain biking, hiking, running, and a barrage of other activities that you will most likely see on here at some point.

Traveling has been a huge part of my life. Ever since I was a child, I have continued to travel as a stress relief. Getting out of town is a wonderful experience but also the planning and preparing part take lots of time so they assist in the actual vacation aspect of my travels. Any time I am in a new place I make sure to check out their little shops, restaurants, and other fun activities that lots of towns have to offer. It passes the time, and some places have a very interesting history.

I have some big goals for the future both long and short term. Currently, my biggest long term goal to visit all 58 of the U.S. national Parks via a 2009 Kawasaki KLR 650 motorcycle. I have already been to five before starting this blog including Canyon lands, Bryce, and Arches parks in Utah, Glacier park in Montana, and Death Valley in California. All of these were via the motorcycle and a crazy experience. Every park that I visit I collect a souvenir patch and will eventually have them put onto something, but that has yet to be decided. So, this blog is to document the other fifty odd parks that I will visit, or at least the ones that are accessible via the bike. Pretty obvious I can't ride to Hawaii, though it would be an awful lot of fun to try.

The bike was a fun choice as a means of transportation because it was affordable and is easy to maintain, gets great fuel economy, and a great talking point at gas stations and restaurants when people see you pull up. This way I am also not putting lots of miles on my car going to and from all these national parks. I am moderately mechanically inclined so I do all of my own maintenance and will attempt to make videos to show how certain things are done to this specific bike. I do not always have the right answer but I will do my best to give educated answers to all the questions that may arise. I will also be doing reviews on the products that I use and a description on why I chose such a product.

If you have any questions about who I am I would love to hear from you; feel free to drop me an email and I'll get back to you as soon as I can. But enough with the chatting and on with the blogging! Strap your selves in for a fun ride and great adventuring!
